Elisabeth G. Hudgins works in watermedia and mixed media. She is inspired by everyday objects and scenes: cats napping in the afternoon, a family story, a song on the radio or her daughter’s jeans… these small things start her creative process. Her art is about taking these familiar things and depicting them in a new and unusual way. She uses various media and processes in her work, depending upon the subject matter. She generally works with watercolor, acrylics, charcoal, pen and ink, monoprinting and collage.
Elisabeth has served on the Board of Directors of the Arlington Artists Alliance, and is a member of Falls Church Arts and the Art League of Alexandria. Her paintings have been accepted into many juried shows, and won several awards, including a First Prize in Connessione:
Things in Common Art Show, Falls Church Arts. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows through out the state of Virginia, and in 2009 was selected to have a solo show at the Fisher Gallery in the Schelsinger Art Center in Alexandria. She accepts commissions.
