“Art is an ongoing creative process that is only limited by the artist imagination.” By using past and present experiences, Rebecca is able to create beauty in her work and continues to educate herself by participating in the many opportunities in the art community. The beauty of nature is captured by her on canvas and paper in both representational and abstract work.
Rebecca enjoys painting in all mediums- pastel, watercolor, oil, and acrylics. She especially enjoys doing collages and painting with mixed medium. She is drawn by the play of light in all settings-from the dancing lights on the water to the bright rays of a sunny day. Her works includes paintings o landscapes, flowers, and barnyard scenes along with collages and abstract pieces.
Rebecca is a member of Falls Church Arts, the Arlington Artist Alliance, and the McLean Art Society. She has been juried into several shows in Northern Virginia and displays her works at Stifel & Capra in Falls Church and venues of the Arlington Artist Alliance.
Rebecca was born in Richmond, Va. and spent her early childhood on a farm with her siblings. Her exposure to a rural environment contributed to her appreciation and respect for the quiet beauty of lovely country scenes ranging from the Tidewater region to the Shenandoah Valley that is displayed in her paintings.
Along with art, she enjoys gardening and gourmet cooking. She has two grown children and resides in Arlington with her husband.
