Donna Lomangino

Serenity, possibility and isolation are recurring themes in my work, expressed in paintings of nature, people and places. Striking use of color and bold brush strokes are hallmarks of my pieces. My preferred medium is oil, although depending on the subject and intent of the piece, I may use acrylic and/or collage. Eliciting an emotional response and offering calm and comforting beauty are goals that drive my practice. In my life and in my painting, I operate on an intuitive level, sometimes painting from reference, often from internal guidance.
