Karol Murray

Bio/Artist Statement: Karol Murray’s interest in art began as a photographer. Studying under a local photographer for two years, she enhanced her technical skills to complement her artistic views and her images have been recognized in several venues. She was juried into the Nature Visions Photo Expo five years in a row with one image selected as People’s Choice and has had images juried into Joseph Miller Abstract Photography Exhibit both times she submitted. As a long-time member, she has received many awards from the Northern Virginia Photographic Society (NVPS), including Image of the Year. She has twice had images selected for inclusion in the Rowing News Magazine Annual Photo Edition, as well as an image on the cover of Reading Magazine. She has also had several images juried into the Art League of Alexandria.

Karol has expanded her creative interests to include mixed media abstract collage after taking several classes in the discipline. One of her pieces received a judge’s award at the Virginia is for Artists Exhibition at the Virginia Beach Art Center after being invited to participate in November 2020. She also had two pieces juried into D’Art Gallery Abstract Show in Norfolk VA in April 2021. She has sold several pieces out of those galleries. Karol lives in Arlington VA with her husband John.
