Ursula Seckel

Ursula Seckel has called the Washington DC area home since 1991. After exploring several successful careers in a variety of fields from Theater to Arts Education to International Travel to Event Planning, in early 2024 she turned her full attention to creating art and cultivating joy. 

Ursula creates tiny to expansive mixed media works with creative reuse of everyday objects most of us barely think about, using bold color choices and a whimsical sensibility. She has been dumpster diving since childhood, rummaging in recycling bins, and convincing her friends, family, and neighbors to save their “pretty trash” for 2 decades for raw materials. Ursula loves being a full-time weirdo with studio space at Columbia Pike Artist Studios, and has exhibited her work at many galleries and art shows throughout the DC area.
