Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I Grew up in a conservative and religious family. Like most children, I enjoyed coloring and drawing animals pictures. Eventually, when all my friends lost interest in art and focused on their education, I continued drawing until I finished high school. After graduation, I joined one of the best and most respected school of fine art and design in Ethiopia. After two years of studying fine art, I got an opportunity to come to the U.S.A in 2010. I continued taking art classes at NVCC and Tropido Art Galleries to expose myself to different mediums and techniques. I mainly used acrylic paints. I used to be very hostile to new ideas and ways of doing things. But though time, American culture and ideology are influencing my artworks. My subject matter is still an old Ethiopian culture, but I try to push my limitation as an American artist.
