I am an avid crafter and lifelong learner and my creative journey has evolved from exploring a wide range of tactile arts—like knitting, sewing, crocheting, soap-making, and painting—to finding my artistic voice in clay during the last decade. My background in industrial-organizational psychology and adult education informs my approach to teaching/studio management as well as my own art, seen in the inclusive, curiosity-driven space for students at my studio. My ceramic work is rooted in function—especially dinnerware—but also pushes the limits of utility with sculptural and conceptual forms, such as teapots with elaborate, unconventional handles. Always a learner, I work across specialties in ceramics, such as wheel throwing, handbuilding, slip casting, and more, drawing inspiration from my culture, upbringing, and the world around me. This constant exploration is at the heart of both my personal practice and my commitment to helping others grow creatively.
