Leslie Landerkin photographs in urban and rural areas in and around the DC metropolitan area – gardens, parks, old buildings, and city streets. Leslie visits places often, gaining a real sense of place that is reflected in her print collections. Her prints are primarily black and white to accentuate the lines, shadows and gray tones.
Landerkin says, “The best moments as a photographer are seeing something special, something hidden from casual view, or found in plain sight but highlighted wondrously in light. Those moments become ecstatic when I capture what I saw, to share with others.” In 2023, her photo-essay of people living on the street, “Unhoused”, was published in Street Photography Magazine. Her prints have been juried into several local and national exhibits including her January 2023 two person exhibit at The Arts Club of Washington.
