Marshall Ginn

I paint to share. When I see something amazing out in the world, I can’t keep it to myself. I want to invite people to join me in that wonderful feeling. My paintings tell stories about places that mean a lot to me, whether it’s the Virginia countryside, the coast of Maine, or corners of the Washington, DC area. A painting is a special moment captured on canvas; a moment I can share with others. Through painting I connect people with the colors, textures, sounds, and light of these extraordinary places. I want those who see my work to think, “I remember visiting that place, it’s one of my favorite memories!” or “What a beautiful sight; I must go and see that for myself!”

Marshall is a long-time resident of the Washington, DC area. He began painting in 2006, taking classes at the Arlington Artists Alliance then subsequently at the Art League School at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria. He is an active volunteer with Friends of Acadia on Mount Desert Island in Maine, and he donates a painting each year for their gala in August.  In the summer of 2024, Marshall was invited to participate with a group of plein air artists for the Art in the Park event sponsored by the Shenandoah National Park Trust. He is an active member of and volunteer with the Arlington Artist Alliance.
