My name is Quannika Johnson, and I am a 41-year-old mother of 4 with a deep love and appreciation for art. I just finished my certification in Medical Administration. I am also a Peer Recovery Specialist specializing in mental health.

Art has played a major role in all aspects of my life. In my parenting, my mental health as well as in my community. Art has saved my life in so many ways. As a person who struggles with anxiety and depression, art has pulled me out of my darkest moments. Seeing and understanding how it has helped me, I also use painting and other art in my parenting. My

autistic 9-year-old twin daughters run to their paint brushes to paint when they need to regulate themselves. My 4 daughters and I love to paint together as a family. When I paint, it centers my soul, calms my mind and allows me to be completely free of the chaos around me. I want my community to know how therapeutic art is and how it helps.

In my paintings, I always paint with pure intentions and positive energy. I want to make sure that whoever ends up with my art feels that energy and purity from my art. Whether its abstract or any other method of art, art is healing, and I love sharing that with my family and community.
